So I snagged issue one of Maximum Dinobots and thought it was pretty awesome. I'm really looking forward to having the bridge between AHM and Devastation/Revelation.
Anyone else snagged it? What do YOU think?

Aww.... so AHM and the Devastation series are related? That doesn't make me happy. >.>

Yeah, AHM is supposed to be one year after Devastation. Revelation was supposed to tie up all the ongoing space plotlines, but it was cut from six issues to four, so it dosen't really finish it COMPLETELY for every character. Maximum Dinobots is only gonna be five issues and it's supposed to tie up all the earth plot lines, like Headmasters, Machination, Skywatch, HuntStreaker, Etc.

And somehow in those five issues we're supposed to be able to tie the -ation series with AHM.

Just 5 issues? I thought it'd be longer...

Snagged the next one in the series. It was pretty good though it didn't have as much Huntstreaker as I wanted, since I'm more interested in finding out what happens to them then hearing Furmanlock angst. STILL, it had Hot Rod getting the slag beat out of him...tee hee. Lots of giant robot fighting in this one, and since the dinobots are all similarly colored and the art depends a lot on uncentered closeup shots, it's kindof hard to understand the action that's going on in some pages. Kinda like watching a Bay movie really.

So I snagged number three, which was, by far, the weakest one yet. I mean the drama they tried to sneak in had NO POINT. The art was pretty though, and Huntstreaker had a larger role.

Am I the only one reading this though?

I'm waiting for the TPB. I get anxious if I miss an issue, so I rarely buy ongoing series in issue form. It's a librarian/completelness thing.

I've read up to #02 so far.

I don't really like the Dinobots, and Roche is one of my least favourite artists. But I got it for the sake of completion with the -tion series and AHM.

Right now I'm not really impressed. The plot seems to be just Grimlock and Co. smashing stuff. But in Furman I trust (kinda XD) and I await to see how it all ties in. If it ever. @_@

okay..so I got the last two issues and all I can say is (spoiler alert)

IT IS ABOUT FRAGGIN TIME THEY TOLD US WHAT HAPPENED TO JIMMY AND VERITY!!!! FOR PRIMUS SAAAAKE I MEAN! IT WAS LIKE A YEAR! A YEAR!!!!! AND WHAT DO WE FINALLY GET? VERITY AND JIMMY...ENTER STAGE LEFT AND EVERYONE IS PLEASED...END SCENE.

*cough*

Overall the series suffers from a more dangerous and insidious Furmanism than "it's over, FINISHED!" and that is Furman overangst repeitition. Seriously, there are about SIX times when the Dinobots say "Grimmy you betrayed us so we are ANGRY and will not follow you." *angsty pose* and five panels later going, "Naw, I think we WILL follow you because we are Dinobots!" *dramatic action pose*

The panel transitions and layout were kinda weird too, often it took me MORE than a second to realize WTF was going on. It wasn't the ART itself. It was how close or far away the action was being shown at, what panel followed another, what was being said in each panel.

Overall I think that what Furman failed at was HOW to cut what he had planned to what he would be able to DO. He picked the wrong things to show and the wrong things to cut when he was editing this down.

STILL, it had some VERY GOOD moments and overall I think I liked it better than Devastation... with it's WTS moments of WTSlaggyness.

Just read #5, the last one, thank Primus. Okay. Whoever drew the scenes with the humans in it (either Nick Roche or James Raiz) .... stop it! Stop it right now!!! Gaaaaah that's some pretty disturbing looking humans right there. And one image of Hot Rod was particularly demented looking. -_-

But, well, I guess things are kinda tied up now. We know what happened to Jimmy and Verity (sorta) and Scorponok is taken care of. And the Dinobots are all back together, yay.

... man, am I glad for AHM. =/

shockwave is always and utterly kool!!!!!!!!!!!

My cerebo shells almost feel useless, all these robots have mind control devices left right and centre. Whats an insecticon to do? *eats noodles*
