Derrick J. Wyatt the Art Director/Lead Character Designer said one his blog

"I tried to give Blurr a way out by putting his still beating spark into the compacted cube design," "Though it wasn't visible in the final animation of the cube, let's assume it's in there. So at the point Longarm Prime hands it off to CJ, Blurr is probably in severe stasis, but he is still alive."

Yeah, but he also said Blurr cube was tossed into an incinerator.

I've loved Blurr from the beginning, but if they bring him back it'll be such a cop out.

oh, I didn't know he was dead.but that would explain the sudden surge of slash shockwave/blurr pics.

Technically, how can it be a cop out? It'd be a cop out if they pulled the episode actually PROVING his demise and had it reanimated to show he survived.

Is Blurr surviving any different than a victim of a car accident surviving being run over? Oh he should have died, what a cop out. Stupid doctors! How DARE you save a life.

Personally, I do hope he pulls through. I like Blurr.

I liked him, too. I really, really wouldn't mind him being saved, especially knowing this.

Too bad Wyatt wrote on his Twitter that the incinerator was actually on when Blurr went in D8

I'm still holding out for the fastest cube in the universe's survival though.

Well, either the incinerator really was on, or Wyatt was saying that to keep form any more spoiling happening. They aren't doing a disinformation campaign, but they did also say there wouldn't be any seeker clones after word got out. :P I'm not holding my breath on this.

One of those is more likely than the other. We'll just have to wait.

Heh. Yeah, but I think the thing with the Seekers was that the guys were wholly sarcastic when they denied all existence of Seeker clones and/or a clone army in TFA. It's just that most written reports forgot to mention the sarcasm.

As for me, I'm crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes hoping Blurr'll pull through! HE NEEDS TO LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!! *raises arms to the heavens melodramatically*

Also, PlushBots' Blurr cube plushie is distressingly hilarious and adorable. D:
