I thought this (http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1588375&vid=237168)was vastly cool... some retribution after losing the Oscars!

PS Sorry for misspelling the title, I was too happy :D Slag it, I can't even edit it...

thats awesome :)

but a quick question:
Am I the only one here who didn't really care for megan fox in that movie?

Woo! Just goes to show you...
EVERYBODY DIGS GIANT ROBOTS!!
Yeah, that was sort of a Megas XLR moment, but who cares. Giant robot.

Uh... many of us femmes weren't impressed by her, I think. She is very cute but she's not a great actress, she wears the same stunned/defiant expression throughout the movie. Maybe Bay didn't direct her well. Let's hope she's matured a bit for TF2.

I didn't really notice. I was too busy ogling the giant robots.

"Transfoamers" lol

Megan Fox. I have no idea who that is. Neither of the actresses (wait, were there three?) impressed me, though. Yep, I was ogling the giant robots as well.

I'm with everyone else who was focused only on the giant robots. Forget the squishies. Because of that movie, I keep staring at saleens and f-22s to expect one to transform.

Thats kinda what I'm hoping for too - its like they just stuck her in there as a pretty face and didn't really work on the actual acting bit very well.
thats a bit demeaning if they did.
(yeah, I'm a little bit of a feminist)

Please...

Mtv is to music as what KFC is to CHICKEN. Winning ANYTHING from that smoldering pile of crap is akin to getting a seagull with diarrhea to perch over your freshly cleaned car.

If you ask me, this just adds SALT to the wound of not winning anything at the Oscars. YES, I hold nothing but hatred and scorn for Mtv.

Awww... I suppose you do have a point though.

As for Megan Fox, yeah, DO NOT WANT! The character of Mikaela was much better in the movie novellization, in my opinion. As for the movie, I prefered Maggie but as has been said time and time again, less squishys more hunka hunka burnin' mecha! *shifty look* There is something pretty damn sexy about giant alien robots fighting to the death.

transformers was a good film, but it wasn't great!
I loved it for the Transformers content and just everything about them was brilliant.
But in terms of the other actors and certian parts of the story: i.e when the american soldiers we're running to the arab camp (admitfully they may still think they are sons of the desert, but they don't live bang splatt in the middle of it) carrying guns....would they welcome them graciously?
And when old-man-Witwiky found Megatron, that artefact would have gone to England not America + they would of had a steam powered boat (Isambard Kingdom Brunel anyone? The Great Eastern, The Great Western?)
just those little things annoyed me, but what can you do except ENJOY IT XD
I think there should of been a dance off between Megatron and Optimus Prime, with music mixed by OPTIMUS RHYME :D
*sigh* listen to too much big butts!!

As for el Megan, you know she's still young she could learn....hopefully
lol and as what Tracks said about MTV, ya I agree, it's pure entertainment

MTV wasn't created for the intelligent audience, just the general mindless population. I wanted more giant, alien (sexy) robot action too. I hope the robots get a much bigger role in the next movie but I know not to get my hopes up. I remember being really confused about the Americans in the Middle East being able to just run into town and use a cell phone because of what's been going on recently.

As for finding Megatron, I think its because no one took Archibald Witwicky seriously at the time then some time later people from the United States government checked it out, found him then moved him. How they did that without bringing any attention to themselves is beyond me.

ah, yes but that was explained later in the comic adapdations. Not in the actual film, personally it would of been alot easier to leave Megatron there :D

Heh, yeah, that's what I thought when I read the comics and stuff. You wanted to doink them in the head say, "What is wrong with you! You are taking an evil giant alien robot from a cold climate that keeps him in stasis and move him to... a desert. Good plan there. Can't possibly seeing anything going wrong with that move!"

Gah! Totally..... The ammount of Mustangs around where I live is ridiculous! *rageragerage* (Kisa hates Mustangs) Same thing goes for those damn '08 Camaros..... Sure..... 'Bee was cool in the movie, but, seriously people, there were more characters than just him! D:< Can't even find a good Peterbilt anymore!

Buuuuuut, back on topic about the award. I kinda' agree with Tracks about it and then everyone else about the actresses. Wasn't fond of any of them and was silently wishing for death upon them through out the whole movie.

I guess I'm lucky that I never watch MTV, then. I just found the news on the net and the only word that jumped out at me was "TransfoRmers" ;)

But maybe it can be said that any publicity is good publicity, especially with the new movie beginning to be made. Sure, I'd have preferred it if the award had been picked up by Optimus himself :D

The only reason MTV awards get points in my books is because of things like this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CRMW5u_UDg

Any Lotr fans out there have probably seen it...but it is good to keep it in mind before you go dissing the usually crappy MTV.

Oh and Megan Fox=....SKANK!!! Sorry...the actress herself seems very...well...Skanky...(Looked for cool Transformers photos, found her "photoshoots" )*shudder*

Personally I think we need to get Shia OUT of the movie. I HATE HIM. He's aweful, digusting, and unsightly. He's the human equivilant of a visible panty line. And get rid of that skank Mikela Hilton or whatever her slut-tastic name was.

In fact NO HUMANS in the next movie. JUST THE DAMN ROBOTS!

Now now, people... the 'bots ARE kinda stranded here on Earth, as they said, so you KNOW there's going to be organics. Yes, Megan Fox must be eliminated to make room for Carley, and Shia... well, I think we're stuck with "Sam" Witwicky (Sheesh... Sam, Spike, Buster, the kid that only showed up in the kiddy books... how many kids did Sparkplug have?)

Actually, I was thinking that maybe in the third film, we see Sam and whoever having a kid and naming him Sparkplug, thereby meaning that this isn't supposed to be Spike, but I really doubt it.

I'll suffer through the humans... pit, we put up with them enough in G1... but it would be nice if they had a little less screentime. The 'bots and 'cons need more character development than "Wazzup bitches? Oh, now I'm dead." *grumblestupidbaykilljazzslagpitmadgrumble*

This forum really needs spoiler tags. :p But regarding the last bit of Slagpit's post ... there might be hope yet. I know Bay said Jazz wouldn't come back but ...

HIGHLIGHT FOR POSSIBLE SPOILER: Jazz's voice actor has been seen on set for TF2 and so has a Pontiac Solstice. Could be flashbacks, but it could also mean he's back. >.>

I'm glad Transformers won at MTV, though it'd had been better if they won that Oscar (stupid polar bear! -_-). Megan Fox can't act, but hopefully she'll improve. And yes, she was totally there as eye candy. Maggie was more tolerable imo, but the roles of Maggie and Glen seemed tacked on to me.

But I agree with Slagpit. The 'Bots and 'Cons are on Earth so of course there's gonna be humans.

HUMANS CAN BE IN THE MOVIE!

They just aren't allowed to talk or do stupid things like...talk to a freckin' chihuahua. They just have to run around in a panic when the fighting starts.

Ouch. Seems like most of you guys really hate Megan. DX I liked her and Shia. But I wouldn't know bad acting if it hit me in the side of the head. Seriously. I enjoyed both of their performances in the movie. More robots would have been uber awesome but I'm happy with what was there. I just hope the next one will have a boat load of new Transformers. And Jazz. I want Jazz back PLZ K THNX.

I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to movies. I really loved it and I'm glad to see it's gotten some recognition even if it is only from MTV.

Thanks for the intriguing spoiler, Anony!! :D

For me the humans in the movie were... meh. I liked Shia because he has a pretty natural reaction to the bots, not just "Cool! Aliens! Lemme hang out with you!" (which I think it's what Sari does in TFA, but that's a different situation.) I think we need at least Sam, to highlight the way Bee is adapting to life on Earth.

Maggie would have been OK if they had made her more of a regular scientist and not a geek hacker. A problem of direction here, too, I believe.

I like Will and Epps, I guess that between soldiers and Autobots there can be an understanding, common experiences etc. I can see them working together.

But the bottom line is, heck yes, giant robots all the way!

As for Maggie, if you get a chance to read the movie novellization, do so. I think she was presented far differently in there from the movie as well. She was much more forceful, up front and direct. Yeah, ok, I guess that's three ways of saying the same thing.

I think there was a huge problem in that they had to severely dilute the human characters to be able to also bring in the robots, if that makes sense, and I also believe the same could be said for the robots as well. That and there were money constraints.

In my opinion, if money had been no object and the movie could have taken the time to fully develop both the humans and the Transformers, then there might have not been so many fans balking at Sam and Co.

Not only that, the fact that the movie was originally pitched as a story of a boy and his car was sure to affect the focus of the film. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope that we do get more characterization for the Autobots and Decepticons in the next one.

Yes, MissMandy, it does make sense! There was no room to develop either the humans or the robots. It could have been a money problem, but also a so-so script. If they had tightened certain scenes (more Maggie and less Glen, more Will and less stuff blowing up in the desert or in the Hoover Dam) there would have been a better humans-robots balance. I confess that, as much as I love Bee and 'Cade, I usually start the movie at about 1 hour... when Optimus appears :o

PS thanks to whoever edited the title of the thread! :D

It's a Michael Bay film. There will be no end to the explosions.
