Despite the rather heavy-handed metaphor in the ep. title, I liked this one. It's my favorite Miko and Bulkhead scene so far. Jack continues to develop into an interesting and resourceful fellow and the Decepticons are absolutely incredible here. While I don't feel exactly bad for Starscream, I can sympathize with the depth of the hole into which he has dug himself. And this Megatron is overtaking TF:A Megatron as one of the superior versions of the character. He's so VERY evil, but he's also thoughtful enough to reconsider his actions and motivations when things go wrong.

This episode... WOW.
Darn it, I had all these pithy thoughts last night after viewing, but had to be a parent, (as opposed to 'apparent,' lol) rather than posting.
But I am not going to get over this one soon.
These guys are delving into things a lot more than any other series I've seen. This is the clearest I've seen/felt Starscream's HATRED for Megaton in any TF toon/movie/book; and that's saying something.
Loved ol' Megsie saying, "You'll never get a better shot. Go for it." And the ensuing WWOD? questioning was cool. (But in the wake of DotM I find myself conflicted about WOWD!)
Miko. (And Bulky.) This is the first time I've ever felt for/with her as person.
This whole ep was the most visceral, I thought. It really sucked me in!

Double post is Go!

Watched this one again just now.
Man.
The other night Chromie and I were going off about it, in HOLYCRAPP!! tones, and she told me that this was the closest she's ever seen to the way I write Starscream and Megatron. And now I can't get over it. Because it's true. I really didn't enjoy living in their mutual hatred, and now I feel like I've been dumped right back in it! FRAG. IT. ALL, YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang it, this show just keeps getting punchier and punchier!!

On the lighter side, Jack says "Scrap," ftw.

I don't love this Starscream [/denial]

I really really DON'T love this Starscream [/deepdenial]

This episode was awesome, pure and simple. Hound and I watched it and kept giving eachother sideways looks of 'oh no they didn!' But they did.

It was powerful and painful to watch. And so deliciously succinct. Only six characters even APPEAR, so that it can focus clearly on who the episode needs to focus on.

I loved everyone in this episode (except Starscream) and I loved them HARD.

I love Starscream.

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must say that I found the size differece between Starscream and Megatron quite shocking. Poor Scream looked so tiny next to massive Megs. Once I got over the 'aww Starscream is so widdle' moment I was quite frightened by Megatron's actions. Though I must say, as much as I love Starscream, I've been waiting for Megatron to say enough and get rid if him for awhile..... A very deep episode. I'm loving this show more and more with every episode!

I have to admit, I loved this one. Like TFA. All right, TFA is a good series and this is but a good episode, but still.
And the WWOD question makes a good contrast with the DotM movie. The next thing we need would be Sentinel redeemed .

I really enjoyed Rock Bottom. It was over way too fast, that's how much I was enjoying it. I'm a little bit claustrophobic so it was kind of intense for me to see characters stuck in a cave like that. Especially Megatron's perdicament. Oh man! I would have died of fright right there. And I LOVED how he just takes it all in stride and has that "I'm still the baddest thing out there, even pinned like this. Kill me if you can" type attitude. And Starscream's plotting. I think he is starting to forget just how many things he has done behind Megatron's back without telling him. Megs keeps finding new lies and Starscream is like "oh... yeah... that... Totally meant to tell you, honest."

I also very much enjoyed the Bulkhead/Miko interaction here as well. It was very sweet. Though I love their relationship anyway. It was just a very entertaining episode all around.
