Why don't you take a photo of him and edit it in Photoshop or something so you can see what he might look like?

Because im useless at Digital painting and any way i dont have the right program to select and paint like the magic wand tool on Adobe Photoshop

Well maybe you should type Transformers Blackout into Google images, even if you can't find a black model you should be able to find some images with him black and that could give you an idea?
If you aren't that happy with his current colour scheme though and confident you can paint him then I say go ahead, I think that black with a touch of silver would be really nice. I repainted a Leoblaze Zoid (red with grey, it clashed horribly with his orange cockpit) to blue with silver and black paws, and he turned out great. Then again he was in parts so it was easyish to paint him. Since he was cheap it was a duplicate I painted, I have an original red one also.

I agree with others who say find pictures first in case it doesn't turn out the way you want it. Make sure you have the right paint too.

Metal colored blades sound neat.
