Default Guild Bank Guidelines

There seems to be a bit of confusion about the use of the guild bank. Previously I had very liberal bank rights, but circumstances made me reconsider and I cut down everyone's bank rights. Now most people can only withdraw once a day from the bank.

Is this unfair? I don't think it is. Let me give a brief outline of what the GB is really for.

First of all, there WERE no GBs when most of us started playing... We all had to farm and grind every minute for everything we owned! We worked hard to get what we have, and now we want to help by sharing it with others.

In most big guilds, bank rights are policed. This is to ensure fair distribution of the materials. It's just not proper for one person to help themselves to multiple stacks of any item that took someone weeks to farm up.

The guild bank is NOT an alternative to farming your own mats! It is a helpful tool to assist you when you are in need of something you can't easily obtain otherwise. Take items out with discretion, and only as a last resort. Take only a few- Leave some for everyone else! If you really need more, ask me or Soundwave. If we consider the request reasonable we will pull the requested items for you (at our earliest convenience).

Please do not treat the GB like an extension to your own bank! Put in items that you don't intent to take out the next day. Deposit only items that you think will be useful to other players, and deposit them in full or nearly full stacks when possible. If you are unsure of an item's value send it to Teletranone in the mail.

Gold withdrawals will be considered on a case by case basis. Please send your requests to Wheeljack. NEVER REMOVE AN ITEM FROM THE GUILD BANK FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF SELLING IT.

Keep in mind that a guild bank is a priviledge, not a right. As such, it's up to my discretion to decide what use of the bank is proper and what is abuse. The most important thing to keep in mind when using the bank is respect for your fellow guildies! There is no obligation on your part to put anything, item or money, into the bank at any time. However, past contributions will be copnsidered when making withdrawal requests.

Thanks for laying down some ground rules, Megatron. I admit, I'm probably guilty of some of these, but I'd like to think it was because I wasn't sure what the 'proper ettiqute' for using the GB was. Now I know how to use it politely. *nodnod* (and knowing is etc. etc.)

Yeah, I think having all the rules laid out nice and clear reduces the chance of misunderstandings and arguments. And remember, if you have any other questions about anything guild-related, don't hesitate to ask Wheeljack/Darpa. Or me, if no one better is on.
