Comics in Disguise

Astrotrain
This is me playing with my new friends.

March 3rd , 2008

I know I really should have a new month up as it's March... but I'm a little short on time today. Tomorrow (Tuesday) starts Guest Comic Week! And I was thinking I hadn't had a good 'week' of new posts with screenshots in a long time... Almost 7 months or so to be exact, so I figured were long overdue.

Regular updates with the current storyline will continue when all the guest comics have been posted (so about a week from now). Thanks again to everyone that has contributed, you guys are going to love them, they're all hilarious. I will be posting them in the order I received them by email, in case people are curious. See you tomorrow!

Today's screencap is for those of you who've played MMORPGs, well at least the ones where you can pull aggro on a bunch of mobs and train unsuspecting people and or/friends/party members.

Did anyone guess where Skywarp was going to take Thundercracker and the humans? It seems a logical place... Since they had already stayed there before without any repercussions. (Except for some awkwardness) You can view that comic here.

You know after looking at this screenshot I wonder how Cosmos ever fits anyone inside him... If you look at the two humans, they're almost as tall as he is in his robot form. ...Although I suppose Bumblebee pulls it off, but then he's just a car, not a spaceship.
Smallest. Spaceship. Ever. They never should've pushed Skyfire into the background...

In comic news... Today's update has about 3 times as much dialogue as the past comics combined, but it's moving the story along. And note to self... I should've kept fighting scenes to the desert... too many rocks, heh heh. Again a reminder - there's about a week left to send me your comics! Send them here please.

Well today marks the end of an era for me really, although you probably don't know it, and it doesn't impact the site at all. (Or does it?)
Today is officially my final day of work where I am working currently. Now quitting your job is a very natural thing. It comes time to move on sometimes, and in case it might have been a year later than it should have been... ha ha.
But when you come from a small company that you've literally put in almost 3 years of your life for... worked the overtime, stressed, woken up in the middle of the night muttering about clients and program summaries... Well, the prospect of never having to go back after tomorrow is, well it's kind of a shock.
I'll miss everyone I worked with, I won't miss the work... ha ha. So what happens next? Well it might be good news for the site, I'll finally start up the Bluestreak comic again that I had to put on temporary hold... I might be able to pull off longer updates (but I'm sticking to my two day a week schedule, I still have night classes and hockey). So we'll see. The future is always both frightening and exciting.

Today sees the conclusion of the immediate dangers that were going on within this arc... Thundercracker is "somewhere", with the humans safely within his grasp, (possibly non-functional) and Devcon/Skywarp and Smokescreen are presumably unconscious and/or also non-funcational.

Yup... it's all wrapping up nicely /cough

*Attention comic makers!*
For those of you that haven't been keeping up with the forums, I can currently accepting comic submissions for a special guest comic week(s) I am currently planning. Whether you feel like drawing/taking photos/screencapping a comic that doesn't matter at all - the comics will be featured on the main page for a day each (then archived for all eternity and for everyone to see). I am accepting them until the end of February, so get yours in soon! Please email them to me at info@comicsindisguise.com

Well well well... looks like a holiday ('holiday') actually coincided with an update day...
Mwa ha ha ha ha ha! This means I only have to update once, and as normal.

Actually this works out perfectly for me as my week has been sort of manic, with me out looking for a new job and all. I hope people find today's comic funny, I spent a lot of time thinking about it and it gave me a chance to depart from drawing the same robots and go back to some Autobots we haven't seen in a while.

So enjoy! If you're not into the whole Valentine's Day thing, that's ok too. But we can all still laugh at it!

In case you haven't been following the forums, the reason for posting Megatron's comic early on Thursday was because Wednesday night I decided to resign from my current job. I am currently looking for another one and sending out resumés/asking around as best I can. The funny thing is I've been insanely busy since Wednesday, and had a hockey tournament this weekend where if the roads hadn't been closed Saturday, would have played 5 games in 2 days. ...As it was I played 3 games in 1 day instead. And it's been cold here. REALLY cold.

Nonetheless, since I had a little extra time I was able to complete the first part of the fight scene between Devcon and Skywarp, giving Thundercracker some time. I wasn't able to completely shade it but.... I do what I can. I plan on doing something special for Valentine's Day- so stay tuned this week! Also check out the forums and the recent Decepticontributions thread. I know a lot of people are joining the forums just so they can post something for it. This doesn't bother me in the least, I'm happy to see so many people contributing! This was all Megatron's idea too (for that particular thread) so kudos to him for the great idea.

When Ratchet asked me to provide a comic for the update, I was a bit unsure. As you may know, I recently lost my old computer and can no longer use my tablet. This has been a wrench in the gears of my 'art' since I find it hard to achieve the desired 'style' without my spazziness with the stylus. Also, I had no ideas.

Based on feedback from the forum and email, however, I determined that there are two things our viewers seem to enjoy: one, Starscream being beaten, and two, my musical tastes. I thought, surely I can combine these themes to create a comic enjoyable by everyone!

Well, that has yet to be determined! But here it is, so, that's what you get today.

February 4th , 2008

For everyone that was a bit confused about the chaos of the last comic panel, this is sort of a 'conclusion' to that. Moreso it's the exact same comic in a way that the last one was, but this time it's completely from Thundercracker's point of view. I made a conscience choice to try and exclude as much noise as I could and keep it a 'silent' dialogue as we hear the seeker's internal thoughts. Because of this, I excluded Devcon and Skywarp from the comic because it would have disrupted the flow. They shall return Thursday for their showdown.

comicsindisguise.com is an unofficial generation 1 transformers fan site and dedicated to all of you who, like myself, grew up watching the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out. The comics are mainly based off the original cartoon series which began in 1984.
