You'll notice the update is a little... smaller today. I was at a hockey tournament all weekend and didn't have a lot of time to draw. Actually almost no time at all. But my team won the gold, and it was a lot of fun playing. Except right now as I type this my neck is killing me. I must've gotten shoved head first into the boards repeatedly fallen at a bad angle...
This little comic might seem like a bit of goofy filler but actually it's important story-wise because it helps Thursday's comic from being 4 pages long. See you then!
Sleep deprived... tired... I hope the fight scene comes out coherently, I drew it in sort of a frenzy yesterday. (It made sense in my mind) Please let me know if anyone finds anything confusing, it helps me in future comics :)
The action continues! In the last story arc I didn't have much of a chance for a lot of 'fighting' action, so this time I wanted to give it much more. I hope everyone is enjoying the story arc so far.
Now I'm paranoid everytime I go to the forums that I'm going to get hacked again. I can upgrade the server, but I'm also paranoid I'll do something and wipe everything out anyway.... So it's kind of a conundrum... I think I'm going to try and upgrade things between update days. I don't want the forums going down on an update day. ...Actually I don't want them going down at all so we'll see what happens.. lol
And the plot thickens! Well.. maybe not so much thickens as begins to play out. Thundercracker is currently on the run, completely unarmed, with two human passengers and now Devcon has transformed and gone after them, out for blood. (Or energon, whichever the case may be)
I got the idea to put Devcon and Smokescreen together as a hommage to the old cartoon, where they both feature in the same episode. They seem to work for each other too, Smokescreen's not the best Autobot to begin with and Devcon's own motives as a bounty hunter are a bit shifty. I hope everyone's enjoying the story arc so far, it's been a lot of fun writing it. Much more to come! Check out the forums if you have time, we always like seeing new members posting.
Just a little bit of in-between news - I have re-uploaded all of 2006 and the first few months of 2007 that weren't up to speed link-wise and banner-wise with the rest of the site. It took a while, but it'll be nothing compared to the horror that comes from updating 100+ pages of comic pages that have the wrong forum links >_<
I've been wondering lately if maybe it's time to give the site a bit of a facelift. It'll take a while but hey - it might give me the chance to try something else. This current design (the light colours and grey) are made to enhance the comic itself - with colour neutral backgrounds that wouldn't take away from the drawings themselves. But sometimes I think it might look a bit... boring. We'll see what I can come up with!
January is almost halfway gone =x I know I complain about this every month but it means I'm so behind on my work >_< heh heh.
A small story about today's comic - this weekend I drew about nine pages worth of drawings for the comic then realized last night that it would probably take days to ink everything and days again to colour and put it up. Plus it would be about 4 times as long! Then I realized Thundercracker's part before he takes off was actually a complete comic on it's own and I could use it. The action begins! We'll see you Thursday.
Today's comic was a panel I've been dying to do ever since I first thought of the Thundercracker-away-from-Decepticons story arc.
And now the fun REALLY begins.
I originally thought of having a panel where Smokescreen is leaving the base, explaining he's going to find Devcon because no one believes Devcon exists. But then that's sort of implied in the comic with Smokescreen and Jazz and then when Smokescreen 'surprises Devcon' so I thought it would just be an update that would slow down the story and I want to keep it at an upbeat pace.
On an unrelated note, my brother got some 3D puzzles for Christmas. I haven't even attempted any yet.
Someone in my office Friday mentioned how the year was going by 'too fast'. I think she probably meant since she started working but I found it funny. Maybe time is going by a little quick though. For everyone involved in the current IDW comic cover contest time is going VERY quick. Unfortunately, drawing a cover for it myself, I was unable to find the time to draw a comic for the update today. Luckily I had asked Megatron to help me out with the update, he decided to do something that follows along the current storyline. Enjoy!
Welcome to the future! The year 2008. A time when during the 60s people thought we'd all be flying through outer space and living in colonies on the moon. I wonder what crazy things our generation will claim. ...At least Star Trek set their stories hundreds of years in the future.. heh heh.
The story continues for today's update. I was debating including humans in this story arc, but story-wise it was pretty unavoidable. Humans have always bit hit or miss in TF stories I find, so I will try my best to make them as unintrusive as possible.
