Comics in Disguise

Bumblebee and Spike
Don't worry Spike, we'll just go down to the store and buy you a new father.

Today's comic was inspired by another comic I did earlier this year for Valentine's Day. You can see it here.

I always figured Ironhide for the jealous type, but in particular I thought it would be funny if Chromia half approved. Although I sort of have the feeling it's only because Prowl was bugging her and Prime's still busy hot-tubbing with the ladies.

Prime's return continues, as we explore a little of the Autobot leader himself as well as learn why he's been on Cybertron for as long as he has. *wink wink* *nudge nudge*

Prime's getting slightly easier for me to draw. The fembots themselves take a long time to draw and colour, I probably just need practice. Their helmets and body shapes are a little more complicated than their male counterparts, but like I said it probably just takes practice. Again, thanks to Megatron for the comic Thursday and enjoy! I like this pic of Frenzy and Skywarp so I'm leaving it up for another update, heh heh.

Early update tonight as I will be spending the night drawing. Thank you all for the kind words that led me to a quick and speedy recover. Now it's back to my normal tasks of fixing things (and occaisionally complaining).
Another big thanks to all our forum newcomers! And thanks those of you who are watching the Deviant Art site. Many of our forumers have their own sites and I encourage you to view as much as you can!

Today's comic is done by Megatron. Thanks to him too, cause I needed a bit of a cooldown to recover... and then draw some more heh heh.

I've been a little under the weather this weekend. And the weather this weekend has been pretty heavy. It also might have accounted for that my heater in my condo stopped working last week and we had to get it all fixed. But it's up and working now, thankfully and I can start to recover from my cold. It's getting better every day, I should be back to normal soon enough but in the meantime I'm lucky if I can string two words together.

Thursday's comic is going to be Megatron's. I need a bit of a break and luckily my friend is there to come to the rescue! We'll see you then!

November is almost half over... and Christmas is only a month away! Crazy... So crazy in fact that I get a heart attack just thinking about it at work. Suddenly, "At least we're done until November" has no meaning and the pain starts all over again >_<
But Optimus' story is moving itself along, I hope you guys have been enjoying it to date. Bringing the Autobot leader back into the fray in this manner has been something I've been planning from the beginning.

I was tempted to make Prime say the following in the last panel... but if you didn't realize it was an actual Prime quote (not one of his more famous ones) then it would be lost.

I encourage everyone to come to the forums and participate! We have a great contribution thread going that's a lot of fun.

I wonder if they have that Prime quote on the 'Quotable Optimus Prime', it's actually a good one. Admitting one's mistakes and not assessing blame is definitely a good quality for a leader. Tonight because I have a day off work tomorrow I decided to stay up a little later and shade in the entire comic - which is why it's updating perhaps a little later than usual for a Monday comic. (Thursday comics however I've done later, with working the next morning ha ha)

Prime himself is both easy and hard to write for. On the one hand it's easy because he will always do the right thing in every situation. On the other hand it's hard because this means it is difficult to put him into conflicting situations that he cannot easily win or get out of because to do any less would be out of character! We shall see!

It is so, so hard to keep my mouth shut on the forums, especially when people are debating what could possibly happen next. In those cases unfortunately I have to abandon the thread or else I'm going to start giving things away.

Well, today marks the first official appearance of Optimus Prime! To everyone who's been asking me about him and been very patient as to his whereabouts, there it is. I know Monday was a sort of tease, so I thought I'd reward the readers with an extra huge, extra complicated update. Enjoy!

Ahhh nothing like a brand new month, and a brand new storyline. This storyline takes place on Cybertron, sort of at the same time as the last story, though I would say more towards the end of the previous storyline.

Today's comic is really just an introduction to the surroundings, but something I've also been planning/wanting to do for months after Shockwave first sent Reflector to be his 'replacement' on Cybertron. I like using Reflector because he was never used that much in the series, so there are a lot of liberties I can take with his character. Also, as I've mentioned before, the character fascinates me. I tried to get the way he 'talks' in the series into the comic but it might give people a headache to look at, so I'll probably abandon it and just use the font as is.

comicsindisguise.com is an unofficial generation 1 transformers fan site and dedicated to all of you who, like myself, grew up watching the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out. The comics are mainly based off the original cartoon series which began in 1984.
