I've been nervous about this particular comic I'll admit. Whenever I try to get emotional in the comic, and not just like 'ha ha' emotions but try and look deeper into particular characters, I get nervous that it's not going to come out quite right, or that it doesn't get across what I want to and falls short.
I like to play with characters a lot. Now, that's not to say I switch things up on them or I turn them around from what they were before. I like to build on them. So I like revisiting things or revealing things that might have had a different contex earlier on in the story that may or may not change or alter your perception of these characters.
I'm writing this because I know the first time we saw Thundercracker in pre-Earth mode he was stepping on dead Autobots and claiming it was a waste and this was interpreted by readers as his disregard for Autobot life. This wasn't really my intent but I went with it because I knew I could always expand on it later.
After using Thundercracker so much in my story I feel it's a shame that other Decepticons in official published material aren't treated with the same regard. (I know a lot of us in non-official land do it.. which makes me wonder why they don't... there's obviously a demand for it.)
But then again you should have heard me whining about the Megatron Origin series.. ha ha. So maybe what they say about never appeasing fans is right...

Wow, so what happened to the month of October? It all seems to be zooming by....
I suppose I should do something for halloween like I did last year, possibly for next Thursday's update. It seems like a good place to have a bit of a break, we're starting to wind down a little bit before we start the fighting again!
I hope you're all enjoying the comic.

And down go the Combaticons... What does this mean to Thundercracker? What about Skywarp and Tracks and the rest of the Autobots? The story continues Thursday...
For today's comic, I looked at a lot of hand to hand combat fighting for inspiration. I thought some close combat might be a nice variety from the fire fight that was last week and in some recent previous comics. I get a kick out of the Transformers tossing each other around like rag dolls.

And the battle rages on! I'm enjoying this new sketchy style. Colouring is a little more difficult and I have to be careful that each panel is defined enough. (I'm trying to get better at it) But I think for expressions and the action I want to do it works for me perfectly. Maybe I'll keep this style for a while.

I'm sorry to leave Tracks in the 'lurch' a little this week (Don't worry, that will be resolved as well) but it's time to plunge back into Thundercracker's storyline.
Smokescreen wants to believe his life is leading him in a better direction than what he assumes from Devcon's example, yet Moonracer understands Devcon's position a little better.

My original plan was to just have Megatron and Prime talking to each other, which may or may not have contained pre-existing pictures. Then tonight when I came home I scrapped the whole idea of basically having an easy comic to fill in while I didn't have the time for a more complicated one. I know people don't want to see the robot yapping to each other when Thundercracker is being hauled to Swindle by Devcon and Tracks and Mirage are in danger. So I hope nobody minds the black and white format for this update, I just didn't have the time to colour/ink any of it, but I still put a lot of effort into the drawings. I hope you like it! And let the mayhem continue!

It was pretty refreshing this weekend to just sit back, watch some hockey, play some video games, eat, sleep, and draw the comic. I really needed a bit of a break from work related stuff. Oh yes, I have much more work to do but I felt my brain could probably do with a couple days to recharge itself rather than pound at more design problems right away. We're also finally getting to the 'fight' that I've been promising for months now. The trouble was, I didn't want to start it if I didn't have any time to draw it. Thus the in-betweeners came in, which I'm glad turned out to be funny and were well received. I'm going to try to have as many robots as possible in the upcoming comics, even if they have cameos.

I apologize for the haphazard comic today, I've been so busy this week I had to put aside some time tonight to make the comic. I had this idea for a while, where Prime was giving a ridiculous battle plan, since the Autobots always seem like terrible fighters. (Especially in the Transformer movie of 1986)
